One Two Three - fellowship in the Covid-19 Era - a call to all church members

"Covid-19 Do you need to be out?"

I saw this sign scrolling in the back of a police car today: "COVID - 19 Do you need to be out?" We're all meant to stay way away from one another, and now, it seems, off the roads!

But Isolation is deadly
The problem with isolation is that it kills our souls. Made in the image of the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit - who are in perpetual communion with each other - we are designed to love and be loved.

In the former Soviet Union, the worst form of punishment was solitary confinement: they understood that punishing the soul was more painful than beating the body.

Busy Pastors
I've been speaking to fellow pastors this week; they are all saying that they are busier than they have ever been in their lives. We're flat out. Why? Phone calls, WhatsApp messages, Emails..

So my also-very-busy wife came up with a suggestion, a version of which she heard from a Korean church.

Caring for one another! It's as simple as 1-2-3.
We can't leave the caring to pastors, folks! We've all got to encourage one another. So here's a simple suggestion, as simple as 1 - 2 - 3.

  • ONE Person      That is You...
  • TWO People     ...calls Two different people in their church / neighbourhood every day - for the benefit of  both caller and called...
  • THREE People  ...and also prays for Three different people every day!

Pass it on?!  1-2-3?
In this way we can be encouraged and encourage others. What do you think?

(Oh, and busy pastors won't get worn out either!)
